By using the new Parrot Flight Recorder, the AR.Drone 2.0 becomes the first flying toy with on-board GPS. This new accessory improves the stability and facilities of the quadricopter, records more than 350 flight settings, and is actually the black box of your AR.Drone 2.0.
To access all the features of the AR.Drone 2.0 Flight Recorder, simply plug it in directly above the battery. A new piloting mode has been developed, when you click on the Earth icon on the top right corner of the piloting interface, a map appears on the screen showing your current location. Choose a point on this map, set the speed and the altitude, then click go. The AR.Drone 2.0 starts its flight to get to this position, whilst staying within the Wi-Fi range from your operating device. The return home function helps the pilot to fly his AR.Drone 2.0 back to base unassisted.
Review all your flights made with the Flight Recorder on your device in 3D, on the AR.Drone Academy map, whilst connected to your AR.Drone 2.0. Get better stabilisation and minimise movement when you fly at high altitudes, thanks to the GPS positioning of the Flight Recorder, for the best possible picture quality whilst filming.
