WIRING METHOD FOR ROTARY SWITCHES:
Example 280-61 (2 pole, 6 way). The 2 poles (the centre terminals) are wired to the + output of the power source.
The 1st pole controls the 1st 3 outer terminals (numbered 1 - 3). The 2nd pole controls outer terminals (4 - 6)
