The McLaren MP4-12C (another name: McLaren 12C) is a British racing and sports car, whose chief designer was Frank Stephenson. The car was presented to the public for the first time in September 2009. Its serial production started in 2011 and lasted until 2014. Production of this model was concentrated in Woking in Great Britain. The MP4-12C model was developed and put into production as the first car developed independently by McLaren after the production of the famous F1 model ended. The MP4-12C model was also to take up the market battle with Ferrari cars - especially the 360 and 458 Italia models. After several years of research and development, a successful sports car with a relatively low weight, powered by a McLaren-developed engine with a capacity of 600 hp and a displacement of 3.8 liters, was created and mated to a 7-speed semi-automatic gearbox. Various types of metals and light materials were used on a large scale in the production of the MP4-12C model. The car, thanks to all these features, had great performance - its maximum speed reached 372 km / h, and in 1998 one of the cars accelerated to 331 km / h. The acceleration of the car also aroused respect - acceleration from 0 to 100 km / k took him only 3.3 seconds! The company's offer was replaced by the 650S model.
