The Tiger I, also known as Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf. E, was a German heavy tank used during World War II.
The early production version of the Tiger I was produced from August 1942 to June 1943 and featured several distinctive features, such as a rounded commander's cupola, a ball-mounted machine gun in the hull, and a shorter gun barrel.
This variant of the Tiger I was armed with an 88mm KwK 36 L/56 gun, which was one of the most powerful tank guns of its time and was capable of penetrating the armour of most Allied tanks at long range.
The tank's armour was also thick and heavily sloped, providing excellent protection against enemy fire.
However, despite its impressive capabilities, the Tiger I had some notable drawbacks, such as its high fuel consumption, limited mobility, and mechanical unreliability.
Additionally, its production was slow and costly, and the German army was never able to produce enough Tiger I tanks to have a significant impact on the outcome of the war.
