The Airbus A400M Atlas is a four-engine, turbo-prop, long-range military transport aircraft in the high-wing configuration, primarily French-British-German. The drive is provided by four Euro-Prop TP400 engines with a power of 11,220 HP each. The prototype flight took place in 2009, and serial production started in 2012 and continues to this day. Until August 2016, 39 copies of this aircraft were produced, with a total of 174 A400Ms ordered by military customers. The program related to the Airbus A400M was launched in 1982, but due to numerous financial problems and organizational turmoil, the first airplane took off only in 2009! Its main goal is to replace the increasingly well-worn C130 Hercules in European NATO armies, but the machine was also sold to Malaysia and Turkey. Despite its late entry into service, the A400M is one of the fastest military transport aircraft in the world, with good flight characteristics, and its performance and payload allow it to match the significantly larger C-17 Globemaster.
