This is a Plastic 1/48 deHavilland Mosquito FB.VI/NF.II Airplane from Tamiya.
Originating out of a private venture by the British deHavilland company to
produce a high performance bomber from non-strategic materials, the Mosquito
evolved into one of the most versatile and in demand aircraft of WWII. Made
mostly from balsa wood, the Mosquito could fly fast enough and high enough to
outrun any German aircraft that tried to intercept it for most of the war. The
aircraft was used as a bomber, a nightfighter, a fighter-bomber, and a
reconnaisance aircraft and proved highly effective in those roles. It was
powered by two Rolls-Royce Merlin engines, the same engine used in the P-51,
Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster, just to name a few.
