The Microaces Nieuport 17 C.1 kit replicates one of the most famous French built sesquiplane fighters of WWI. The livery of this kit is that of one of the greatest French aces, Rene Dorme.
In the 10 months Dorme fought on the front line with Escadrille N3, he amassed 23 confirmed kills and 32 probables. Because Rene relished in fighting behind enemy lines, where it was more difficult to prove victories, it's likely his score was severely underestimated. On the 25th of May 1917 Rene Dorme was reported missing, killed in action in the area around Fort de la Pompelle, Reims.
